NEWSLETTER “Shady School” October 2014

Dear Parents,

     Last month the children focused on Fall Fruits and Vegetables, Family/Friends, and All About Me. The children had so much fun making all of the wonderful projects.

october     This month we will talk about Fall Fruits and Vegetables, Columbus Day, Halloween, Fall, and Fire Prevention and Safety. The children will be discussing which fruits and vegetables grow in the Fall.

     We will be working on letters H, I, J, K, and numbers 5, 6, 7 and colors pumpkinOrange, Black and Yellow. The children also enjoy doing music, movement and exercise everyday and they are really doing well and love to do their projects too! The children love circle time and listening to stories.

halloween     We will be celebrating Fall with a Halloween Party on Friday, October 31st!! We are asking if you could please send in $1.00 for your child as the great pumpkin will be appearing to drop off pumpkins for all of the children to go pumpkin picking the day of the party. Please bring your child’s costume (nothing scary) in a separate bag with your child’s name on it, so we can change them for the party. Please do not send any masks or weapons to school. We are all looking forward to a great time! All are welcome! Please look for the sign-up sheet for snacks for our party. We encourage healthy snacks – Thank you!

     The children have been making fun and spooky projects for Halloween. leaf pilePlease be sure to look around the classroom for your child’s art projects as you come in.

     October is “Fire Prevention” month. Please take the time to be safe and remember to change the batteries in all of your smoke and CO detectors or replace any older or questionable detectors before months end.

columbus day     We now have Quick Pay – The new and easy way to pay your child’s tuition! This is available through an email invoice which will be sent to you monthly. The directions are on our website for online and automatic payments, please refer to the e-flier for a direct link and instructions.

     Please be sure to watch or check online Channel 12 News or call the schools voicemail, and we now we have an automated phone message for any days we will be closed or for important information.

Reminders:

  • Please pick your children up on time. If you will be late, please advise the staff as soon as possible – thank you.
  • Tuition payments are due on the first and no later than the 10th of the month unless otherwise arranged. Full Tuition price is due each month, there is no price adjustment when your child is absent, school closings or vacations.
  • Please call if your child will be absent or if you are running late.
  • Please send in 2 healthy snacks (morning snack and afternoon snack) and lunch everyday for your child.
  • Please remember our Health Care Policy: Children MUST be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school.

     The cooler weather is here!! The children will be going outside twice a day. Please dress your child appropriately and label ALL items (with child’s first and last name) that are brought to the school and also bring in an extra change of clothes too. To ensure safety, please have your child wear sneakers everyday,fall no open shoes, as they are not safe for the playground. Please bring in wipes and a change of weather appropriate clothes; Jacket, pants, shirts, socks, and underwear (if needed) for your child.
