NEWSLETTER ”Shady School” June 2015

Dear Parents,

     Wow! What an exciting and busy month May was. We hope all the moms had a wonderful Mother’s Day. The children learned about butterflies and many new songs too.

june     This month we will discuss Fish, Frogs, Father’s Day, Plants, Flag Day and Disney, we are excited about summer and have a lot of fun things planned.

     In our Fish Unit we will observe water animals, we will describe how they are alike or different. We will read books, look at pictures, draw, color and paint the many different kinds of fish.

     Our Frog Unit will we be learning the sounds that frogs make and act out how a frog sounds and moves. We will do many arts and crafts about frogs.

     In our Father’s Day Unit we will discuss the special daddy’s, uncle’s, fathers daygrandpa’s, and men in our life and why we honor and thank them. We will be making a special project for them too.

     In our Plant Unit we will also discuss how plants grow and how many colors plant come in and the different sizes they grow.

mickey     For our Disney Unit we will read books and make arts and crafts and it will be so much fun!

     Our “end of the year“ concert  will be on Friday, June 26th at 4pm. If you could please bring $15.00 cash in an envelope per child to help cover the cost of the shirts for the concert as soon as possible. Immediately following the concert there will be refreshments for everyone to enjoy. We hope you have a wonderful time and enjoy the show!!

      We now have Quick Pay – The new and easy way to pay your child’s tuition! dollar signThis is available through an email invoice which will be sent to you monthly. The directions are on our website for online and automatic payments, please refer to the e-flier for a direct link and instructions.

     Please be sure to watch or check online Channel 12 News or call the schools voicemail, and we now have an automated phone message for any days we will be closed or for important information.

tissue     If anyone would like to donate wipes and/or tissues, we have been going through so many boxes. We appreciate it!

     If you are interested in Direct Deposit from your bank it is now available, please contact Dawn for further information.

Reminders:

  • We will be Closed Monday, June 29th to Friday, July 3rd for Summer Recess / 4th of July.
  • The End of the year concert on Friday, June 26th at 4pm.
  • Please call if your child will be absent as soon as possible. Please pick your children up on time. If your child will be absent or if you will be late picking up, please advise the staff as soon as possible – thank you.
  • Tuition payments are due on the first and no later than the 10th of the month unless otherwise arranged. Full Tuition price is due each month, there is no price adjustment when your child is absent, school closings or vacations.
  • Please send in only 2 healthy snacks (morning snack and afternoon snack) and lunch.
  • Breakfast is served until 9:15am. If you arrive after this time please ensure your child has been fed breakfast at home.
  • Please remember our Health Care Policy: Children MUST be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Please remember to bring a doctors note to school if you brought your child to be seen. 

     The warm weather is hopefully coming soon…lol!! The children will be going summeroutside twice a day as weather permits. Please dress your child appropriately and label ALL items (with child’s first and last name) that are brought to the school and also bring in an extra change of clothes too. To ensure safety, please have your child wear sneakers everyday, no open shoes, crocs or flip flops and no laces (velcro only) for your child as they are not safe for the playground. Please bring in a bathing suit, towel, suntan lotion, insect repellent, water shoes, wipes and a change of weather appropriate clothes; jacket, sun hat, shorts / pants, tee-shirts, socks, and underwear (if needed) for your child. Please remember to return sippy cups and blankets on Monday’s after bringing them home to be washed. For the safety of your child and all the children in our program: Please do not send in glass containers for food or drink as they break.

     We please ask that all children leave their toys and jewelry home as we encourage sharing of the schools toys. This will ensure their safety and we do not want the children to be upset if it may get lost or broken.
