Miss Dawn’s is proud to announce our New Infant Room and restructured classrooms. We are excited about the changes and the children are busy with their Summer Camp activities. This opportunity will be wonderful for parents with growing families allowing their children to be in the same school from Infant through Pre-school.
We are also very excited to announce that Miss Angie is now the Teacher in the new Infant Room and will provide all of the infants with the same care and love she has provided previously.
The Toddler Room will continue to be taught by Miss Louiza who is great with this age group and has been with us for over 17 years!! She provides stimulating activities and learning to keep up with the pace of active 2 year olds.
We also restructured the Nursery and Preschool Class (3’s and 4’s) and combined them to provide a new and stimulating environment. Our 3’s and 4’s will by co-taught by Miss Naheed & Miss Susie who will follow the Preschool Curriculum to get the children ready for Kindergarten.
This re-organization will give the children their own special room for each age group and development and the opportunity to be at one location from Infant through Pre-school!
We are all very happy about this new venture and the abundance of opportunities this brings to each of our children!!!
The children have been enjoying summer camp and all of the fun activities we have provided for them. We would like to thank Cornell Corporate Extension for teaching the children about the many sea animals presented during the Touch Tank. We would also like to thank Happy Feet for 
continuing to provide us with their wonderful program that many of the children are participating in! We would like to thank Miss Victoria @ Dance on Location for keeping our feet moving to many wonderful dance rhythm’s! We have been busy discussing summer, the beach, summer fruit and summer snacks. They have been making and playing musical instruments, having a lemonade stand, dressing as superhero’s and singing summer songs too!! The children have been busy with all of our fun summer activities and look forward to more in the coming month!
Miss Dawn’s Child Care Summer Camp is in full swing and continuing in August!! The children truly enjoy it! Hopefully everyone will participate in this wonderful event for it to be successful. Please look on the website for the Summer Camp Calendar for all of our exciting August events.
Everyday at circle time we will be reviewing numbers, letters, colors, shapes and our daily songs, we will also be learning about fish, summer fruits, insects and the beach. We will be doing sand art and tasting all kinds of summer fruit. The children also enjoy doing music, movement and exercise everyday and they are really doing well and they love to do their projects too!
We would like to offer a wonderful camp setting without the outrageous cost of camp. We will be creating an atmosphere of exploration, discovery, and excitement. Our aim is to provide an atmosphere for your children filled with wonderful memories that you both can share forever.
Our picnic’s have been a great success!! The children love eating outside on beach blankets and singing summer songs. PLEASE send in a sandwich on picnic days as it is easier for the children to transport and eat outside.
Some of the fun filled Camp Activities that the children will be doing are:
- Happy Feet: Thursday’s, July 21 – August 25, 2016: – Story time with a soccer ball. Sign up now if you wish for your child to participate in this great activity!
- Dance on Location: Tuesday’s, July 12 – August 30, 2016: – Miss Victoria Brings the joy of dance to Miss Dawn’s Huntington Location. Sign up now if you wish for your child to participate in this joyous activity!
- Hiccups the Clown: Wednesday, August 10, 2016 – A clown will come to visit with us. She will be doing magic tricks, face painting and animal balloons.
- Arts & Crafts – The teachers will be making all kinds of wonderful ceramics, paper mache’, tie dying and more!
- Exercise/Dance – The teachers will show the children some basic exercise and movements.
- Music & Movement – We will be singing and dancing with the children using all kinds of fun instruments.
- As well as, Treasure Hunts, Carnival Day, Pizza Party, Obstacle Courses, Crazy Hat Day, Ice-Cream Parties, Picnics, Magic Shows, Water Fun and more!
The Camp Fee will be an additional $50.00 per month, per child for July and August.
The Summer Camp will continue to run until Aug. 31st, 2016. We hope that everyone will participate. Our desire is to give the children an action packed safe and happy summer.
Please don’t forget, August tuition is the full tuition price and due on the 1st, no later than the 10th. The additional camp cost will only be for the months of July & August. Please submit your Camp fee as soon as possible in cash in a separate envelope. The fee will help to cover the cost of all the great activities and special lunches we will be having.
Miss Dawn’s is happy to welcome Dance on Location back to our school for Summer Camp! The program will continue to run every Tuesday through August. This is a Dance Program that will come to our school weekly for 45 minutes and is open for enrollment to both boys and girls 2 years old and over. Please provide a change of clothes for your child; either a dance outfit or a short sleeve t-shirt, sweatpants, socks and sneakers on these days so they can move to the music! If you haven’t signed up for this joyous program there is still time to do so! The Boys and Girls enjoy dancing with Miss Victoria!
Miss Dawn’s is excited to bring Happy Feet Back!! – Happy Feet is a professionally developed soccer program based on 25 years of youth coaching experience. The program is GREAT FUN and age appropriate for 2 – 5 year olds. The instructors of the program use stories, songs, nursery rhymes and fun games to captivate and entertain the children. The children will learn creative soccer techniques, enhance motor development, develop social skills and help improve balance and coordination. Every week for 30 minutes the children will participate in their captivating and entertaining “Story Time” with a soccer ball. The Summer Session will run each week for 6 weeks from Thursday, July 21, 2016 to Thursday, August 25, 2016 for 30 minutes. All children are encouraged to join this amazing program. Please register to ensure your child has a spot. Fill out the registration form at your child’s school if you wish for your child to participate in this fun program. The fee for the 6 week session will be $48 per Child (…just $8 per week). Please Register NOW for this great program! Both boys and girls love it!
We now have Quick Pay – The new and easy way to pay your child’s tuition! This is available through an email invoice which will be sent to you monthly. The directions are on our website for online and automatic payments, please refer to the e-flier for a direct link and instructions. If you are interested in Direct Deposit from your bank it is now available, please contact Dawn for further information.
Please don’t forget, each month tuition is the full tuition price and due on
the 1st, no later than the 10th. A late fee of $35 will be charged for any payments made after the 10th of the month and the provided Credit Card will be charged on the 11th of the month with a 3% processing fee unless other arrangements have been made between the parent and provider in writing.
Please be sure to watch or check online Channel 12 News or call the schools voicemail, and we now have an automated phone message for any days we will be closed or for important information.
Reminders:
- Happy Feet is Back!! – Happy Feet will bring their Soccer Program directly to Miss Dawn’s each week on Thursdays!! The Summer Session will run each week for 6 weeks from Thursday, July 21, 2016 to Thursday, August 25, 2016 for 30 minutes. Please sign up if you wish for your child to participate in this amazing program!
- Dance on Location – Dance Classes will run each Tuesday until August 30, 2016. Please sign up if you wish for your child to participate in this joyous activity. Fun for both boys and girls!
- Please call if your child will be absent as soon as possible. Please pick your children up on time. Overtime pay will be $1.00 a minute for each minute after 6:00 pm. If your child will be absent or if you will be late picking up, please advise the staff as soon as possible – thank you.
- Tuition payments are due on the first and no later than the 10th of the month unless otherwise arranged. Full Tuition price is due each month, there is no price adjustment when your child is absent, school closings or vacations.
- Please send in only breakfast, 2 healthy snacks (morning snack and afternoon snack) and lunch as per the OCFS Meal and Snack Regulations.
- Breakfast is served until 9:15am. If you arrive after this time please ensure your child has been fed breakfast at home.
- Please remember our Health Care Policy: Children MUST be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Please remember to bring a doctors note to school if you brought your child to the doctor.
If anyone would like to donate wipes and/or tissues, we have been going through so many boxes. We appreciate it!
The hot weather is here!! The children will be going outside twice a day as weather permits. Please dress your child appropriately and label ALL items (with child’s first and last name) that are
brought to the school and also bring in an extra change of clothes too. To ensure safety, please have your child wear sneakers everyday, no open shoes, flip flops, or crocs as they are not safe for the playground. Please bring in wipes and a change of weather appropriate clothes; Bathing suit, towel, suntan lotion, insect repellent, water shoes, sun hat, pants / shorts, shirts, socks, and underwear (if needed), shoes (no laces – velcro only) for your child.
Please remember to return sippy cups, bedding and blankets on Monday’s after bringing them home to be washed. **For the safety of the children please DO NOT send in GLASS containers as they break**
We please ask that all children leave their toys and jewelry home as we encourage sharing of the schools toys. This will ensure their safety and we do not want the children to be upset if an item may get lost or broken.
