Dear Parents,
Welcome Back! I hope all of you had a fantastic summer!! We had a great time here at Miss Dawn’s summer camp with all of the fun activities! They enjoyed Happy Feet, Girl Scout Programs, Touch Tank and many more events. They also enjoyed the end of summer Pizza Party!!
Please pardon our appearance while Miss Dawn’s Huntington Location gets a facelift, we have been very busy painting, brightening the entryway, reorganizing the classrooms and adding an Infant Room!
This month we will talk about Fall Fruits and Vegetables, Family/Friends, Nutrition and All About Me. The children will be discussing which fruits and vegetables grow in the Fall. We will even be making our own homemade applesauce!
The Nursery / Preschool Class (3’s and 4’s) is very excited about their new classroom. We would like to Welcome Back Miss Claudia, she is excited to be back this fall to co-teach with Miss Christine. She has many new ideas to share with the children. The 3’s and 4’s are doing fabulous in their new classroom together. We have restructured the 3 and 4 year old classes and combined them to provide a new and stimulating environment for the children. By combining the 3′s and 4′s, this will allow younger students the stimulation of older children, who in turn benefit from serving as role models. They will be focusing on getting to know each other, new songs, writing skills, learning how to write and spell their name, letters and numbers. We will be starting with the letters A, B, C, and numbers 0, 1, 2. The children also enjoy doing music, movement and exercise everyday and they are really doing well and they love to do their projects too! The children love to come up during circle time to write their name and letters. We will be reading the Kissing Hand and many other books. Please send in a backpack and folder to hold work, notes, etc. This folder will remain in the backpack. Please only send in 2 snacks and 2 drinks a day, as we do not have the space for more. Please send 3 wallet sized pictures with your child asap for a special project. Please refer to the August Newsletter for additional information regarding the benefits of combining age groups.
Everyday at circle time the Toddler Class will continue name Recognition, Shapes, Colors and Alphabet Recognition.
Miss Dawn’s is excited to announce that the full time Infant Room is progressing along wonderfully!!! We are still in the process of decorating it, please stop in again soon to see it finished.
If anyone would like to donate tissues, we have been going through so many 
boxes. We appreciate it!
We now have Quick Pay – The new and easy way to pay your child’s tuition! This is available through an email invoice which will be sent to you monthly. The directions are on our website 
for online and automatic payments, please refer to the e-flier for a direct link and instructions.
Please be sure to watch or check online Channel 12 News or call the schools voicemail, and we now we have an automated phone message for any days we will be closed or for important information.
Reminders:
- Please pick your children up on time. If you will be late, please advise the staff as soon as possible – thank you.
- Tuition payments are due on the first and no later than the 10th of the month unless otherwise arranged. Full Tuition price is due each month, there is no price adjustment when your child is absent, school closings or vacations.
- Please call if your child will be absent or if you are running late.
The cooler weather will be coming soon!! The children will be going outside twice a day. Please dress your child appropriately and label ALL items that 
are brought to the school and also bring in an extra change of clothes too. To ensure safety please have your child wear sneakers everyday, no crocs or flip flops, as they are not safe for the playground. Please bring in suntan lotion, insect repellent, wipes and a change of clothes; shorts, tee-shirt, socks, and underwear (if needed) for your child.
