Mission Statement: Miss Dawn’s Child Care exists to provide children infant through Pre-school with a safe, developmentally appropriate environment. Our focus is to provide a stimulating child care and academic experience which promotes each child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. We provide the children with the ability to challenge themselves and to make thoughtful positive decisions to become productive, successful adult leaders. Our goal is to give the children the gifts of many priceless lessons learned at Miss Dawn’s Child Care such as, take on challenges, be loving, love learning, be part of the community, laugh and be all you can be! As they continue on to the next step in their lives, we feel very confident that we have given the children a great start in life and to be life-long learners.
Our Approach to Education
Miss Dawn’s Child Care provides a fun, loving approach to learning. Your children will learn to become confident and self-aware. In a caring and stimulating atmosphere, we provide your child with endless opportunities to learn, grow, and be creative.
Young children are action-oriented learners who need plenty of opportunities to play, reflect on their work, and interact with other children. They have needs in all developmental areas – social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative.
Learning centers have been created to encourage active learning. Learning centers are places designated to invite the children to learn through hands-on exploration. Young children need the freedom to choose activities or meaningful projects – opportunities that fully extend their learning experiences and build on prior knowledge. Learning centers encourage children to be self-directed; a positive learning environment is achieved.
The activities that are created for the curriculum allow the children to think creatively, to construct meaning from their experiences, and to apply problem-solving skills.
When working with children and education it is always a partnership. Parents, teachers, and children need to continually find ways to work together to maximize each child’s potential.
