Dear Parents,
During the month of September, the children were getting aquainted and learned all about Fall Fruits and Vegetables, Family/Friends, and All About Me.
This month we will be focusing on Columbus Day, Halloween, Fall, and Fire Prevention and safety.
It’s that fun time of year again, for a howling great time at our bewitching party. We will be having our Halloween party for the children on Thurs., Oct. 31st at 10:00 am. There will be ghoulish goodies (please sign up for a goodie posted in the room) and frightful fun!!
The children have been making fun and spooky projects for Halloween. Please be sure to look around the classroom for your child’s art projects as you come in.
We are asking if you could please send in $1.00 for your child as the great pumpkin will be appearing to drop off pumpkins for all of the children to go pumpkin picking the day of the party. Please bring your child’s costume in a separate bag with your child’s name on it, so we can change them for the party. Please do not send any masks or weapons to school. We are all looking forward to a great time! All are welcome!
As we are going into the fall season we are learning and looking at the trees and the special colors they are changing, the changes that are going on this Fall season, as well as what is happening to the temperature outside. The children will making “Autumn Collage’s” with various different Fall materials.
For our science projects the children are learning the life cycle of a pumpkin. The class will be dissecting the inside, outside, how and where they begin.
The Toddler class is learning name recognition, shapes, colors, days of the weeks and the months of the year. The Nursery and Pre-k class are continuing to learn to write their first and last name as well as learning their address. They have been learning the days of the week, letters D-F, numbers 3-5, colors and shapes. The children are also learning how to add and subtract using using pumpkin seeds. The children love to come up during circle time and write the weekly words on the dry erase board!
October is “Fire Prevention” month. Please take the time to be safe and remember to change the batteries in all of your smoke and CO detectors or replace any older or questionable detectors before months end.
Our “Parent/Teacher Conferences” will be in mid November this year. It is a great way for you to talk with your child’s teacher and see what they have been working on.
The cold weather is approaching. Please bring in the appropriate clothes and jacket for your child/children. We will be going outside twice a day weather permitting. Please label ALL items brought to school with your child’s first & last name.
A Reminder: we will be closed Nov. 11th for Veteran’s Day. Also, please call the school when your child is absent. Any payments made after the 10th will have a $35 late charge added to tuition unless otherwise arranged. Thank you for your cooperation. Happy birthday to all of our October babies!!
