Dear Parents,
This month we are focusing on Mother’s Day, birds/butterflies, zoo/circus animals and flowers. The children are fascinated by how caterpillars turn into butterflies, and the rebirth of all animals and plants in the Spring. We are also continuing our review of numbers/math, spelling/reading comprehension, shapes, and colors too!
Everyday at circle time the toddlers review numbers, letters, colors and our daily songs. The children are really doing well and they love to do their projects too! They also enjoy doing music, movement and exercise everyday.
Our number & alphabet writing is progressing along wonderfully. We are almost done with the alphabet. The Nursery & Pre-K classes are learning letters X – Z & numbers 15 – 20. They are learning patterns, and more or less. The children love to come up during circle time to write their name and letters.
We are all excited about our fourteenth annual “end of the year” concert. The concert will be on Thursday, June 13th at 10:00 a.m. This year we will be doing our concert “Disney” style. The children have been practicing the special things they will be doing for the concert. Each group will be performing individually. The Toddler class will be the opening act followed by the Nursery class and the grande finale will be the Pre-K class. If you did not do so already please bring $15.00 cash per child to help cover the cost of the shirts and costumes for graduation as soon as possible. You will be receiving an “end of the year” concert e-vite shortly. Please respond so we will know how many people will be attending the “end of the year” concert.
Parents and guests should arrive at the child care no later than 9:45 a.m. Please enter through the front playground gate. A teacher will be there to greet you and will be handing out the programs. After you receive your program please find a seat and wait for the concert to begin. We ask you to please go directly to your seats and not to enter the child care to see your child because this may distract the children and they may get upset.
We want this to be a fun event for everyone, so if your child gets upset at any point during the concert one of the teachers will walk your child over to you so they can feel comfortable participating in the concert with their parent/parents from your seat. If you are unable to attend the concert and your child needs special attention we have designated teachers to care for your child/children.
Please, don’t be discouraged if your child/children doesn’t want to participate. Remember they are young and we don’t want to pressure them into doing something that they don’t feel comfortable about. We are here to have a great time and enjoy the concert.
Immediately following the concert there will be refreshments for everyone to enjoy. We hope you have a wonderful time and enjoy the show!!
The hot weather is approaching. Please bring in a bathing suit, a towel, suntan lotion, water shoes and a summer change of clothes; shorts, tee-shirt, socks, underwear (if needed) for your child.
We would love to add a written testimonial from you on our website. If you could please send it to missdawnschildcare@gmail.com. Thank you!
We are happy to invite a soccer fitness program called “Happy Feet” to our schools! They will be visiting us for some outdoor soccer and story time for a trial visit to see if they will be a good fit into Miss Dawn’s Program. They will be visiting us on Tuesday, May 21st at 10 am.
*A Reminder: The concert will start promptly at 10:00 a.m, don’t forget your cameras and video cameras. We will be closed Monday, May 27th for Memorial Day. We hope everyone has a wonderful Mother’s Day!!
Sincerely,
Miss Dawn, Miss Melissa & Staff
