HAPPY MAY!!
We hope everyone had a wonderful April! The children had so much fun learning about Jungle Animals, Spring, Easter, Passover & Plants. We had great fun at our Spring party! Thank you to all who contributed goodies for our party. We look forward to a very fun and exciting May!
This month the children will be focusing on Mother’s Day, Ocean, Butterflies / Birds / Flowers, Zoo / Circus. The children are learning new words during our circle time, such as: Mother, May, Spring, Butterfly, Bird, Flower, Memorial Day and many more.
The Nursery and Preschool Classes will be working on poems, Holiday themed artwork, new songs, writing skills, learning how to write and spell their name, letters, numbers and shapes. We will be working on the letters Yy, Zz, numbers 24, 25, 26, colors, patterns, months, seasons. The children also enjoy doing music, movement and exercise everyday. They are really doing well and love to do their projects too! We will be learning colors, patterns, shapes, sounds and seasons.
Everyday at circle time the Toddler Class will continue name Recognition, Shapes, Numbers, Colors and Alphabet Recognition. The children also enjoy doing music, movement and exercise everyday. They are really doing well and love to do their projects too!
In our Ocean Unit we will talk about what animals and plants live in the ocean. We will make project of ocean animals.
For our Mother’s Day Unit we will talk about the concept of Mother’s Day. Why do we honor and thank our mothers and other special women in our lives. In art, we will make a variety of cards and gifts for moms.
For our Butterflies / Birds / Flowers Unit we will talk, show, draw, color and paint 
pictures to explain the different stages of a butterflies life span. We will also discuss different birds and how they build their nest, lay eggs and hatch them. The children are also fascinated by how caterpillars turn into butterflies and the rebirth of all animals and plants in the Spring. We will talk about how seeds sprout and grow. We will draw and color the different parts of a plant and many different flowers in arts and crafts.
For our Zoo / Circus Unit we will discuss the many zoo and circus animals. The children will dress up, jump and make the different sounds these animals make.
The Graduating children are preparing for our “End of the Year“ Western Theme Concert on Thursday, June 6th. Additional information to follow.
Please don’t forget, each month tuition is the full tuition price and due on the 1st, no later than the 10th. A late fee of $35 will be charged for any payments made after the 10th of the month unless other arrangements have been made between the parent and provider in writing.
Please be sure to watch or check online Channel 12 News or your email for any days we will be closed or for important information.
Reminders:
- We are CLOSED: Monday, May 27, 2024 – Memorial Day!
- Graduating Class “End of the Year“ Western Theme Concert on Thurdsay, June 6th.
- Please call if your child will be absent as soon as possible. Please pick your children up on time. Overtime pay will be $1.00 a minute for each minute after 6:00 pm. If your child will be absent or if you will be late picking up, please advise the staff as soon as possible – thank you.
- Tuition payments are due on the first and no later than the 10th of the month unless otherwise arranged. Full Tuition price is due each month, there is no price adjustment when your child is absent, school closings or vacations.
- Please send in only breakfast, 2 healthy snacks (morning snack and afternoon snack) and lunch as per the OCFS Meal and Snack Regulations.
- Breakfast is served until 9:15am. If you arrive after this time please ensure your child has been fed breakfast at home.
- Please remember our Health Care Policy: Children MUST be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Please remember to bring a doctors note to school if you brought your child to the doctor.
If anyone would like to donate wipes and/or tissues, we have been going through so many boxes. We appreciate it!
The warm weather is coming soon!! The children will be going outside twice a day as weather permits. Please dress your child appropriately and label ALL items (with child’s first and last name) that are brought to the school and also bring in an extra change of clothes too. To ensure safety, please have your child wear sneakers everyday, no open shoes, flip flops, or crocs as they are not safe for the playground. Please bring in wipes and a change of weather appropriate clothes; pants, shirts, socks, and underwear (if 
needed), shoes (no laces – velcro only) and jacket for your child.
Please remember to return sippy cups, fitted sheet and blanket on Monday’s after bringing them home to be washed. **For the safety of the children please DO NOT send in GLASS containers as they break**
We please ask that all children leave their toys and jewelry home as we encourage sharing of the schools toys. This will ensure their safety and we do not want the children to be upset 
if an item may get lost or broken.
