We hope everyone had a wonderful March! The children had so much fun learning about Community Helpers, St. Patrick’s Day, Spring, & Farm Animals. Thank you to all of our Community Helpers that came to visit us, we had so much fun! We look forward to a very fun and exciting April!
This month the children will be focusing on Jungle Animals, Spring, Passover & Plants. The children are learning new words during our circle time, such as: Jungle, April, Spring, Plants, Seed, Passover and many more.
Our Spring Unit is on the way and soon our classroom will be filled with Spring projects! They will learn about the Spring season and how this season looks, smells, tastes, sounds and feels different from other seasons. The children will draw, color and paint many fun projects.
In our Jungle Animal Unit we will explore how jungle animals’ characteristics help them to survive in their environment. We will also see how animals are different from plants and will recognize the different body parts of animals. We will have fun drawing, coloring and painting different animals in arts and crafts.
For our Plant / Seed Unit the children will discover, sort and plant seeds while recording growth and will identify the structure of plants, including seed’s, roots, leaves, flower and fruits. We will talk about how much we depend upon plants. We are doing a science experiment with celery stalks and food coloring and the children will watch the food coloring go up the celery like roots on a plant.
Our Passover Unit will have the children being introduced to Passover vocabulary, making cards and many crafts.
The children are also starting to prepare for our “end of the year“ concert on June 9th @ 10am. If you could please bring $15.00 cash in an envelope per child to help cover the cost of the shirts and costumes for graduation as soon as possible.
Miss Dawn’s is happy to bring Dance on Location to our school! The program will continue to run every Tuesday through June. This is a Dance Program that will come to our school weekly for 45 minutes and is open for enrollment to both boys and girls 2 years old and over. Please provide a change of clothes for your child; either a dance outfit or a short sleeve t-shirt, sweatpants, socks and sneakers on these days so they can move to the music! If you haven’t signed up for this joyous program there is still time to do so! The Boys and Girls enjoy dancing with Miss Victoria!
The Nursery and Preschool Classes will be working on poems, Holiday themed artwork, new songs, writing skills with “Handwriting Without Tears”, learning how to write and spell their name, letters, numbers and shapes. We will be working on the letters Tt, Uu, Vv, Ww, numbers 30-45, colors, patterns, months, seasons. The children also enjoy doing music, movement and exercise everyday. They are really doing well and love to do their projects too! We will be learning colors, patterns, shapes, sounds and seasons. Please check their folders every night.
Everyday at circle time the Toddler Class will continue name Recognition, Shapes, Numbers, Colors and Alphabet Recognition. The children also enjoy doing music, movement and exercise everyday. They are really doing well and love to do their projects too! **TODDLERS will be picked up at WHITE DOOR (Toddler class ONLY) This avoids traffic in the hall – Thank you!**
We now have Quick Pay – The new and easy way to pay your child’s tuition! This is available through an email invoice which will be sent to you monthly. The directions are on our website for online and automatic payments, please refer to the e-flier for a direct link and instructions. If you are interested in Direct Deposit from your bank it is now available, please contact Dawn for further information.
Please don’t forget, each month tuition is the full tuition price and due on the 1st, no later than the 10th. A late fee of $35 will be charged for any payments made after the 10th of the month and the provided Credit Card will be charged on the 11th of the month with a 3% processing fee unless other arrangements have been made between the parent and provider in writing.
Please be sure to watch or check online Channel 12 News or call the schools voicemail, and we now have an automated phone message for any days we will be closed or for important information.
Reminders:
- The Photographer will be here Monday, April 11th @ 10:30am – Please mark your calendars.
- End of the Year Concert on June 9th @ 10am
- Dance on Location – Dance Classes will run each Tuesday until June. Please sign up if you wish for your child to participate in this joyous activity. Fun for both boys and girls!
- Please call if your child will be absent as soon as possible. Please pick your children up on time. Overtime pay will be $1.00 a minute for each minute after 6:00 pm. If your child will be absent or if you will be late picking up, please advise the staff as soon as possible – thank you.
- Tuition payments are due on the first and no later than the 10th of the month unless otherwise arranged. Full Tuition price is due each month, there is no price adjustment when your child is absent, school closings or vacations.
- Please send in only breakfast, 2 healthy snacks (morning snack and afternoon snack) and lunch as per the OCFS Meal and Snack Regulations.
- Breakfast is served until 9:15am. If you arrive after this time please ensure your child has been fed breakfast at home.
- Please remember our Health Care Policy: Children MUST be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Please remember to bring a doctors note to school if you brought your child to the doctor.
If anyone would like to donate wipes and/or tissues, we 
have been going through so many boxes. We appreciate it!
The warm weather is coming soon!! The children will be going outside twice a day as weather permits. Please dress your child appropriately and label ALL items (with child’s first and last name) that are brought to the school and also bring in an extra change of clothes too. To ensure safety, please have your child wear sneakers everyday, no open shoes, flip flops, or crocs as they are not safe for the playground. Please practice putting on and taking off coats / jackets with your child as we will be practicing in class too. Please bring in wipes and a change of weather appropriate clothes; Jacket, hat, gloves, pants, shirts, socks, and underwear (if needed), shoes (no laces – velcro only) for your child.
Please remember to return sippy cups, bedding and blankets on Monday’s after bringing them home to be washed. **For the safety of the children please DO NOT send in GLASS containers as they break**
We please ask that all children leave their toys and jewelry home as we encourage sharing of the schools toys. This will ensure their safety and we do not want the children to be upset if an item may get lost or broken.
