NEWSLETTER “Huntington Location” April 2013

Dear Parents,

Our St. Patrick’s Day party was great fun! The classroom was filled with green! The class had fun decorating the classroom with pots o’ gold, rainbows, shamrocks, and lucky leprechauns. We also enjoyed eating green bagels.

Our focus for the month of April will be on Farm Animals, Spring, 5 senses, and Planting. We will learn how important it is for our earth to have rain for nature to grow. Our Spring party was great too! The children enjoyed the special egg hunt. Thank you for all of the goodies brought in!

Everyday at circle time the toddlers review numbers, letters, colors and our daily songs. The children are really doing well and they love to do their projects too! They also enjoy doing music, movement and exercise everyday.

Our number & alphabet writing is progressing along wonderfully. The Nursery & Pre-K class are learning letters T-W & we are almost finished with our numbers books. We are learning matching, patterns, adding and subtraction and more. The children love to come up during circle time to write their name and letters.

For our science project this month the class will be making a garden and planting seeds. The children will be practicing using their small motor skills as well as coordination skills by helping the teachers scoop the dirt into their pots to make a plant. The children will be fascinated to see the plants growing in a few weeks. It’s a wonderful experience for them to see that the seeds they have planted turn into plants with the proper care.

As the weather continues to get warmer, the children will be going outside twice a day. Please dress your child appropriately and label ALL items that is brought to the school. Please bring in a sheet and blanket rather than a sleeping bag as some are quite big and won’t fit properly into your child’s cubby. Also, all children must have a pair of sneakers to play on the playground as to prevent them from any injuries for not having the appropriate shoes.

School pictures will be on April 22nd at 10:30 am. Everyone is welcome to take photos on that day even if it is not your scheduled day.

We are also practicing for our “End of the Year” concert/graduation. If you could please bring $15.00 cash in an envelope per child to help cover the cost of the shirts and costumes for graduation as soon as possible. Our graduation will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at 10:00 a.m.

A Reminder: Tuition payments are due on the first and no later than the 10th of the month unless otherwise arranged. Full Tuition price is due each month, there is no price adjustment when your child is absent, school closings or vacations. Also, please don’t allow your child to come to school with any hanging jewelry or necklaces as they may break or get caught and cause injury.

Thank you for your cooperation. Have a wonderful Month. Happy birthday to all the children born in April! Happy Spring!!

Sincerely,

Miss Dawn, Miss Christine & Staff
